Rental Agreement

The renter shall comply with the indoor occupancy limitations as specified by Municipal Regional and Provincial public health authorities/directives in effect.

1. Should the occupancy limitations change between the date of booking the room and the actual day of the event the renter can cancel or re-schedule their rental without penalty.

2. During their scheduled event, the renter acknowledges and accepts their responsibility to supervise the event and participants, including but not limited to:

a. Ensuring their guests/participants are aware and use the designated entrances and exits to the LKCC, and, b. Ensuring their guests/participants comply with the building requirements that face masks/covering be worn when in common areas such as hallways and washrooms. (if applicable) c. Ensuring you have a valid B.Y.O.B Permit if you or your guests/participants would like to serve or consume any liquor or beer during your special event. Failure to have a Permit will result in a $250 charge applied on your credit card used to pay for rental. d. An agreement with LKCC that if you wish to extend your booking time while the event is occurring that you agree to pay an additional $50/hr for any extension of the rental. e. Ensuring that when planning your event to include set up and take down in your booking times and if any damages are found after your rental, that your credit card will be charged accordingly.
3. The Lochiel Kiwanis Community Center shall invoke a “Hold Harmless” clause, which protects LKCC staff, the Sarnia Kiwanis Foundation Inc, the members of the Board of Directors and Foundation general membership, from any liability and or future legal action because of anyone present/participating in the hosted event being subsequently confirmed as COVID Positive.

A signature will be required to acknowledge the renter understands, and fully agrees with these provisions/conditions, of this rental agreement.
